| This famous Barbachano dynasty was
the founder of travel to the Mayan archaeological sites of the Yucatan.
I came to learn so many wonderful things about how the sites were
gradually excavated, and how grandfather Barbachano literally went
down to the docks persuading people to visit his "famous places"!
All this was back in the 1930s!! Those "places" were Chichen
Itza, Labna, Uxmal, Coba, Izamal- names that only a few discerning
travellers knew back in the early '70s. Joe became an archaeological
guru, and I his willing apprentice. He taught me that 'You cannot
sell what you have never seen!'
I therefore found myself travelling from
London to Mexico and the Yucatan, barely a month into beginning my
new job! I was young, inexperienced, apprehensive and obviously concerned
at taking time away from my young child. I had no need of any of
these worries. From the moment I arrived, I was taken into the homes
and hearts of, what seemed then to be, the whole of Mexico! I became
part of a huge 'family'. I was privileged to be shown sacred sites,
caves, local villages, even Indian settlements, where only Mayan
was spoken, all previously to some extent unknown to the regular
tourist.
I loved this country and its people from the second I set foot on
Mexican soil. I have never looked back and have tried to repay my
debt of enduring friendships and working associations by striving
to create and design, the most perfect, tailor-made Mexican itineraries,
to show you, the client, the true Mexico that I love so very much.
There is no site, special place, beach,
hotel or small corner of my adoptive country that I do not know.
However, I am constantly learning new things. Always some exciting
character property is suddenly appearing or a new theory on the Maya,
the Aztec or the Toltec emerging.
We work very hard at Mexican Tours, moulding our product around
the client's budget and dreams. We make anything possible and everything
wonderful!
We specialise in select holidays for the individual, concentrating
on the tradition, style and standard of excellence we have built
up over the years. We do not sell "Package Tours". You
tell us what you want, where you want to go, what you might have
read about Mexico and we do the rest. It might take three or four
itineraries until we get it just right. Whether it be that holiday
of a lifetime, a business trip, wedding, honeymoon, a select small
and up-market conference or just a weekend! As a client, you are
the most important element to us. I am so proud to offer you our
unique service as we are now in our twenty-fifth year.
I hope you will come to know "My" Mexico...... I guarantee
you will want to return for a second visit (and to our credit we
have many complimentary letters from clients who have done just that)!

Some interesting facts you may
previously not have known about "My Mexico"
"Did you know that the sommelier at the Presidente
Intercontinental hotel in Mexico City is the number 1 in Mexico
and voted number
10 in the world!"
DIVING.....Mexico is blessed with
6,000 miles of coastline and an incredible variety of underwater
landscapes.
The surprising thing is that it is possible to dive in many inland
waters, lakes and old Mayan Cenotes ( wells).
FISHING: Some of the best Bone fishing in the world can be found
in Mexico.
VOLCANOES: Mexico has several snow capped volcanos, a joy
to see upon your approach into Mexico City.
SILVER: Mexico still has many working Silver Mines.
AIRLINES: Mexicana Airlines is 82 years old and has one of the
best and most respected safety records in the World.
IT IS A MEMBER OF THE STAR ALLIANCE NETWORK.
MEDICINE: Mexico has made huge contributions
to the Medical profession in diabetes, MS and many other diseases.
Plastic
Surgeons are listed as some of the best in the world. Cosmetic
Surgery and Dentistry attracts many well heeled Female
visitors!!
MUSEUMS: There are so many incredible Museums in Mexico
City, even if you had a year to spend you would not get to
visit them all!
CHILDREN: There is even a children's
museum described by the New York Times as one of the largest and
most technologically
sophisticated "touch and go" museums in the world. There
is also a Disney like park and a "Jurassic World"
FOOD: Mexican food is not just "hot and spicy". There is
an enormous range of dishes to which the Mexican will add his "hot" sauce
or spice once at the table....but the actual dish could be both
delicate and bland. The produce is always fresh.
A Mexican housewife would cringe at how long fish is kept before
it reaches our tables in U.K. Fish in Mexico is still moving
when purchased!!
GOLF: There are over 75 championship golf courses situated along
the coastal resorts.
So many facts to share with you..... call us for more information.......!!
Children
Mexico is simply heaven for children...
The child is so adored , that there is even a "day of the child" along
with all the other "mother's day" , "father's day" celebrations.
The waters are crystal clear and the beaches clean. We are careful
to direct you our client to the safe swimming resorts for small children.
We advise you of the properties with "clubs and activities" .
If you are travelling with babies we can make the arrangements for
a baby sitter and pre-advise the hotel that you will need to prepare
baby food.
Therefore, let me categorically state that Mexico welcomes children.
Rather than list the hundreds of properties providing activities
for children, let me just state the very few hotels listed within
this Website that will only accept from the age of 14... Maroma,
Ceiba del Mar, Villa Rolandi, Ikal del Mar, Villa Vera...
A final note but I just must add it... The baby clothes in Mexico
are divine and so cute!
The First Time Traveller
By this title I mean the client who may be contemplating a "long
haul" holiday for the first time.
We make everything as easy as pie for you, there is a direct flight
to Mexico city and from there it is a simple procedure to have you
met and transferred to your destination.
Mexico is such a diverse and huge country there is so much to see
. Try not to be tempted to just "book two weeks in Cancun"!
Not that there is anything wrong with doing this, it is just such
pity that this often happens due to lack of knowledge! We are here
to help you, we can give advice and send you literature even if we
are not
your final choice of agent at the end of the day!
So just pick up the telephone and call...
How to begin...
This is how it all works...
We talk you through your ideas and what you wish to see. We then
put together a sample itinerary. You look at this itinerary and decide
if you want to change it in anyway. This can sometimes happen two,
three, even five times before we get it exactly to your specification.
We then give you a costing for you to consider and make a decision.
This "costing" is not set in stone! There are always ways
of making an itinerary work for a smaller budget.
"We do not mind how much work we
put into your file, we just want you the client to be happy."
The worst thing that can happen to us is that you do not enjoy Mexico!
A sample costing
Mexico is not an expensive country.
Food and drink is less expensive than the U.S.and U.K. so many people
make the mistake of thinking "they have to go to an all inclusive" because "it
is cheaper"!
As mentioned above we cost each itinerary separately
and since we do not do "package tours" we are able to take
advantage of an up-to-date Dollar rate to the client's advantage.
Currency in Mexico is Pesos but Dollars are equally acceptable.
