This resort is fabulous. It will always have for me that feeling of an old fishing village, with the movie stars of Hollywood visiting in the 30's and the 40's... the heat, the Pacific, the seafood, the nightlife; I love this place!

Of course, the resort is there for everyone, the rich and famous, the budget traveller, the weekend home owners (and what beautiful homes), breathtaking villas with gardens stretching down to the sea..., swimming pools straight off a movie set, the serious golfers, the honeymooners, and visiting cruise ships... it's all here. Three hours by road from Cuernavaca, with Taxco en route or 40 minutes by air from Mexico City.

Las Brisas

For me, synonymous with Acapulco has to be the famous Las Brisas resort.

Las Brisas... so much has been written about the legend of this hotel, almost caught in a time wrap... Elvis Presley filmed movies here, Elizabeth Taylor has celebrated her birthday here. President Clinton honeymooned here! Where else would you have your own private pool, your own pink jeep and your own private beach club? Petals are scattered on your pool every morning and your breakfast is served with fresh mangos picked straight form the tree. This is one of the world's most romantic hotels and should be visited at least once in your lifetime!

Pierre Marques

Another hotel which must be forever linked with the exclusive side of Acapulco is the Pierre Marques.

Their brochure states for those who remember Acapulco as it was! And "My oh My" is this true!!

This wonderful old resort has a charm and an air all its' own, nowhere more than at this lovely property. Beautifully designed villas, some with a private pool. The lunchtime buffet is quite something and the evening restaurant is one of the most romantic in Acapulco. Even if you're not staying here, a visit to the restaurant is a must.

Fairmont Princess

Everyone has heard of the famous Princess Hotel, built in the shape of a huge pyramid on an enormous stretch of coastline famous for its association with Howard Hughes who chose it as his last place to live!

Many stories and legends but it remains as sensational as ever! Now under the management of Fairmont hotels it has been improved beyond imagination. The Spa is absolutely fabulous, treatment rooms and relaxation areas circle a private pool. The main hotel has restaurants and swimming pools situated throughout the pretty gardens.
