The fresh lobster, mangos, papaya, Frank the barman's legendary
margaritas, the list is endless...
We have so many special "secrets" (known only to us) of
Maroma to share with you... Did you know you can have the Mayan Temazcal
at night and rush into a moonlit ocean afterwards. You can literally
converse with the Mayan Gods and feel "re-born" or, at
least, just a little bit more relaxed! You can find a colony of
sandpipers along at their special place on the beach in the morning
but in the
afternoon they are replaced by a large group of buzzards... I love
this beach, it constantly changes...
The Quintessential Mayan Escape.
This is an example of what you can experience at this enchanting
place. I cannot emphasise enough the very special bond, combined
with love and pride, we have for this property.
Champagne upon arrival. If you are arriving late, a light supper
can be set to wait you in your room. You can also experience Jungle River snorkling excursions with a
certified marine biologist. We tailor-make you visits to the Mayan
Archaeological sites.
Imagine all this, plus your gorgeous room and also the opportunity
if you want, to be in glorious solitude...
For more information on Maroma, see the "Weddings" page.
Call us to book and to let us talk you through our beautiful Maroma
and its special "magic" ( the website does not know the
real "heart, soul and the wealth of love and toil" Sally
and Jose Luis put into creating this paradise, but we do!)

ikal Del Mar
|
I was
a bit lost for words when we saw this incredible place
(unusual for me!). Hidden deep in the jungle, (and I really do
mean this as the owners have left a lot of the vegetation intact),
and situated between Playa del Carmen and Punta Morelos, it is
difficult to find but once found is truly amazing! All separate
villas with their own pool and sundeck. This is a chic hotel, masses
of style and oodles of panache! This hotel is expensive and so
very worth it!

The "myth" of Riviera Maya
It is often assumed that the "Corridor" between Cancun and
Puerto Aventuras is an unspoilt paradise... to some extent it is, but
the client must be aware that there are small
enclaves of tourist villages.
Playa del Carmen, once a sleepy port for the ferry over to Cozumel,
Playacar is now a manicured manmade resort, Puerto Aventuras, again
a purpose-built village...
This is not to say that within these charming locations there are
not some stunning hotels. A very good example of this is the delightful
30 room Omni at Puerto Aventuras. It has a swimming pool with a
dolphin centre and so is an excellent venue for children.
If you continue along this coast all the way to the border you
will encounter wild and unspoilt beaches and jungle. The Boca Paila
Bone Fishing Resort is simply wonderful.

Situated in this area are also some of the best "All
inclusive properties"
We, at Mexican Tours, are very selective as to which hotels we work
with and recommend to our clients. There are many hotels developed
in this area, please do ask us to help you distinguish one from another
and to help you choose what is exactly right for you!

Paraiso de la Bonita |
The hotel is truly amazing and very, very private, you enter through
massive iron gates into another world! The rooms are huge with high
ceilings, lots of mirrors and stylish Latin design with a slight
Asian influence. Top of the range and has been accepted by "leading
hotels of the world". I get the feeling that this will be the
most "talked about" hotel along this coast.

Ceiba Del Mar |
Situated near a little tiny port called Puerto Morelos, which is
so reminiscent of Playa Del Carmen twenty years ago! There are three
small fish restaurants, a bar and a shop where you can pick up your
odd bottle of wine to take back for later!
When Joanne dragged me from Maroma to go and see this property I
complained, as I did not want to leave Maroma… But the moment
I walked into Ceiba Del Mar I absolutely loved it! An inexpensive
option to Maroma but with masses of style and great design. The rooms
are beautifully furnished, with gorgeous bathrooms. The beach is
to die for you can walk for miles. It has a sweet little pier, I
thought it was just perfect!"

Tulum |
Head south, to the ancient Mayan city of Tulum.
This citadel is one of the few Mayan ceremonial centres constructed
on the seashore. The Sian Ka’an conservation and Biosphere
reserve surrounds the magnificent structures of Tulum and the castle
lies on a ridge facing a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea.
