Lets begin with Hacienda Katanchel. Monica and Anibal Gonzalez my dear

Hacienda Katanchel

friends, owners of this property have welcomed and cosseted our clients since we began working with them some years ago.

This is their private home and it is exquisite, but it was not always so. They have worked extremely hard to bring this lovely old hacienda back to life. I find this to be one of the most relaxing places I know and, when there, I never want to leave.

There are over 300 species of birds in the grounds of Katanchel. Anibal has built bird watching towers. I must also add that Monica has also lovingly created an organic vegetable garden, her lettuces have to be seen to be believed! They are absolutely huge, with not a caterpillar in sight!

Click here for more information on birds and wildlife to be found throughout Mexico.

Hacienda San jose

Very close to Katanchel, but very different. There is a private honeymoon suite with its own garden and swimming pool, which is spectacular.

Managed by a lovely lady called Veronique.

Hacienda Santa Rosa

Situated not far from Uxmal, small and very pretty.

I would really recommend a 2 night stay to enjoy the delicious luxury of this Hacienda along with all the others listed on this page.

Hacienda Temozon

Considered to be the most grand of these particular haciendas. Lit at night by torches it really is impressive.

I had a legendary luncheon here at the time of President Clinton's visit!

Hacienda Uayamon

This hacienda is situated in the town of Campeche.

All of these properties form part of the "Luxury Collection" operated by Starwood Hotels.

This has been a recent "discovery" for us as I made my first visit in the past month. I was completely mesmerised by this exquisite property. It has so many different aspects about it and of course has the little train station nearby to board the Expreso Maya.

This whole area is so fascinating. We have therefore spent a lot of time and effort putting together some very special tours. Of course, the ruins of Ednza are nearby but there are other "secret places" we can only tell you about...

80 miles east of Merida, at the ruins of Chichen-Itzà and very near Old Chichen and the cave of Balancanche, where the pre-Columbian and colonial periods merge with the 20th century.

Hacienda Chichen

This historic 17th Century Colonial hacienda was originally operated as a cattle ranch and later as a henequen plantation. Early in the 20th century it was the home of American Vice Consul Edward Thompson, who spent part of his life in Yucatan studying and writing about the Mayas. Native Maya Indians assisted Thompson in excavating many of the pyramids and temples and in dredging the Sacred Well (cenote). Discovery by Thompson of human bones, copal incense, sacrificial knives, gold ornaments and other artifacts led to the belief that the Sacred Well was a well of sacrifice of Maya virgins to the Maya Rain God.
